How to Feng Shui Your Home on a Low Budget

 - by DianaSmith

Feng Shui is an ancient Chinese art. The ideology behind it is that it will improve every aspect of your life, from your health and relationships to your wealth and career.

Feng Shui “works” by enhancing your environment according to principles of energy flow and harmony. Most of us are not aware how much our environment influences and affects our lives; it influences all things happening in our lives, our relationships, peace of mind, success… This is why the best way to live a happy, healthy and successful life is to organize your environment according to Feng Shui.

Rely on Color and the Feng Shui Octagon to Energize Your Life Area

feng shui 1Feng Shui Octagon is a tool used to map the energies of your home or lot. It starts with the first floor and then moves to any additional floors.

Life Area is your personal space.

Once you associate a colored object from your Life Area with that color, you help that space get energized. Further, when you use Feng Shui Octagon to learn which energies circulate which parts of your home, you can use an appropriate color to “cure” that area with an appropriately colored object.

Feng Shui encourages the use of color to enhance your life energy. In this philosophy, each color has a particular meaning and enhances a certain emotion/state of things.

How will Feng Shui help the immediate home improvement?

To ensure immediate improvements in your home, you don’t need much money or some big changes. Usually, just moving around furniture can help a great deal. Have a look at these suggestions for practical Feng Shui.

1. De-clutter

Feng Shui is based on the free flow of energy (chi). So, clear the entryway to your home in order to let chi enter your home freely, with no obstacles. Clear out things like bikes, toys, old newspapers, looming plants/vines from your home entry. For even more benefits, clear out anything behind your door

2. Fix what’s broken

Fixing broken stuff around the house, such as doors, windows, pieces of furniture is not only a great way to get rid of unwanted frustrations but as well a good start for some good Feng Shui. Your front door should be in good working order – no squeaking or scraping should be happening. Also, hinges and locks should be secure. The doorknob tightened and secured also. Fixing of broken things in your home helps you let go of anxieties and frustrations and smoothes your life path.

3. Plants

To spice up your love life put plants in the bedroom. Go with three or nine (although nine is more like a garden, right?) plants to add hope and cheer to your love nest.

4. Bed

Position your bed as far from the bedroom as possible but in such a way that you can see who is approaching your bedroom door or your bed. When your bed is position this way (so called Commanding position) you are attracting strength, calamity, love and safety.

5. Rugs

One of the important aspects of Feng Shui is choosing the right designer rug. This particular rug is important because it is placed at the entrance to your home where all chi is circling. First think of the shape of the rug and ask yourself – which shape would visually best complement your entrance. If you want to strictly follow feng shui, then for a door facing East, choose a rectangular or square shape. As for color, just like with shape – choose what best it’s the energy of the entrance. Again, with East facing main door, best fit are colors of three feng shui elements – Wood, Earth and Water. When choosing a design for the rug, never order it with prints that are symbolic of peace, happiness, calamity and other wonderful feelings. For instance, buying a rug with angels on it isn’t a good idea… walking over angels every day can’t bring good energy can it?

There are many rules to Feng Shui. It is an entire philosophy and if you feel like you are ready to dedicate your living space and your life to Feng Shui, we are with you. Just, make sure you don’t mix philosophies. Once you choose Feng Shui, go with it all the way and accept it as a way of life.
